In late August of 2000, A&E showed a short film from the 60s called 'Red China: Behind the Bamboo Curtain' during their early-morning A&E Classroom programming. It claimed to be educational but it was really a propaganda piece about how evil and oppressive China was and how you should be praising the almighty for not living there.
And I got to thinking... I bet they showed the same movies to people in China and Russia, but in those, it was America that was evil and oppressive. Now you know- and knowing is half the battle.
